Cowboy Campfire
Imagine
you're a cowboy. You've been ridin' the range, mendin'
fences, watchin' over the herd and doin'
all the other things in
your daily routine. It's Friday nite
and it's been a fairly easy day
and some of the boys have got a campfire goin'
and are
gathered around takin' it easy. Someone
pulls out out his
guitar and strikes up a tune. You pass around some cowboy
coffee or maybe something a might stronger. After a song or
two with all
joining in, someone comes up with a story to tell. Is
it true or false? No
one really cares because it's campfire time.
It's a time to share. You keep
the fire stoked as more gather
round as a cowboy poet sets his cup down. He
rhymes out a
story that may have happened that day or he just made it up and
he's pitchin' more than hay. Maybe sing a chorus of "Tumblin’
Tumbleweeds" or sing a song of a cowboy and his good deeds.
When you've got folks comin' from all around, there ain’t no
better
place than a fire on the ground. What's
more relaxing than
the crackle of the flame as you gather together and tell
each
other your name and where you came from and where you’ve
been. How
long you stayin’, as you make a new friend.
